How to Measure

Helly Hansen measuring points — Typical measuring points for Helly Hansen workwear.

Body height: Stand upright against a wall and measure from the top of your head to the floor.

Chest: Measure around the fullest part of your chest, keeping the tape horizontal and under your arms.

Waist (at belly-button height): Measure around your natural waist at navel level, where your body bends side to side.

Waistband: Measure where your trouser waistband normally sits.

Hip: Stand with feet together and measure around the fullest part of your hips and seat.

Inseam: Measure from the crotch straight down the inside of the leg to the floor (or to where you want the hem to end).

All size tables below are based on body measurements in centimeters (cm), not garment dimensions.

Tip: Measure over light clothing. If you are between two sizes, Helly Hansen recommends choosing the larger size for extra comfort and freedom of movement.

EN ISO 11612:2015: Protection against heat and flames
- A1: Resistance to limited flame spread (surface ignition).
- B1: Convective heat resistance at the lowest of 3 levels.
- C1: Resistance to radiant heat at the lowest of 4 levels.
EN 1149-5:2018: Protection against electrostatic charges, prevents dangerous static discharges in flammable or explosive environments.
IEC 61482-2:2018: Arc flash protection
- EBT: 7.3 cal/cm² - Indicates the cal/cm² threshold at which the garment will likely break open due to an electric arc.
- ELIM: 7.3 cal/cm² - Represents the incident energy limit below which the garment ensures no heat will transfer through.
- APC 1: Arc Protection Class 1 - Provides arc flash protection as defined in the standard’s Class 1 requirements.
